Marine Corps JROTC

JROTC

Congratulations to LHS MCJROTC and the cadets who worked hard to earn this distinction!

LHS MCJROTC has been designated a National Naval Honor School. This designation is earned by the top 20% of all Marine Corps JROTC units in the nation. Units are judged by multiple criteria, including ceremonial events, volunteer work, scholastic performance, and semi-annual Inspector General inspections. This is the first time LHS MCJROTC has received this national title.

Established in 2000. The purpose of the program is designed to instill in high school students a value of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility and a sense of accomplishment. It prepares high school students for responsible leadership roles while making them aware of their rights, responsibilities, and privileges as American citizens. The program is a stimulus for promoting graduation from high school, and it provides instruction and rewarding opportunities that will benefit the student, community, and nation.
