Girls Basketball

New coach Zach Wessels has stressed that the LHS girls' basketball team focuses on getting 1% better each day this season, and their growth has been evident month by month. The most rewarding aspect, according to Wessels, has been watching the players come together, working toward common goals both on and off the court. The bonds they've formed have been a highlight, strengthening the team’s performance and spirit.

The team’s primary goal is to make it to the SoDak16 and, ultimately, reach the state tournament in Rapid City. While challenging, they believe this goal is within reach, and every player is committed to putting in the effort needed to achieve it.

The senior class, including Hazel Jensen, Kierra Lubovich, Kenya Harris, Addie Roths, and Jerzi Kool, has shown incredible resilience. Their hard work and leadership are invaluable, and their experiences will serve them well in the future.

Juniors Faith Kpeyeah, Serena Graff, and Eva Adams lead by example with their strong work ethic and positive attitudes. They bring 100% effort every day and set the tone for the team’s commitment.

Sophomores Kacie Adler, Emerson Robertson, Ruby Hennies, Maudi Needles, and Ingrid Ready contribute greatly in both games and practice. Their humor and quick wit add a fun and energetic vibe to the team.

Freshman Regan Van Meeteren has stepped into a significant role early, showing adaptability and a strong willingness to contribute wherever needed.

The coaching staff is deeply grateful for every player, recognizing that while success on the court may take time to fully show, the foundation being built is strong. The team’s growth and teamwork are invaluable, and the coaches are excited for the future. With continued effort, the best is yet to come.
