Last week we had many students from our OSO class visit Augustana to learn about the opportunities available to them and perhaps a few future career paths! The students had a blast! Thank you, Mr. Daudt for organizing such a fun and informative field trip for our students at Edison!
Plans are in the works for SFSD students and staff to bring electronic devices home over the weekend in the event that winter weather presents challenges on Monday. Refresh your memory now about the new remote learning plan by using the QR code on the image. We'll keep you posted if there are any schedule changes for Monday.

We absolutely HAVE to give a giant shout-out to Ms. Erica Mason, a 7th Grade Special Education Teacher here at Edison Middle School! Ms. Mason was nominated for Special Education Staff of the Year by the Sioux Falls School District! She is being celebrated for all of her hard work and dedication to the students at Edison. We are very proud of you Ms. Mason!

We wanted to give a HUGE shout-out to Coach Emily Deinken and the EMS Dance Team! They were AMAZING this past week and absolutely brought the house down at Ben Reifel during their Dance Showcase! We are very proud of the team and all the work that they have put in! If you haven't seen them yet, come watch them perform at the Edison Middle School Variety Show on Thursday, 3/7 at 10:00 AM or 7:00 PM! We will see you there!

Ms. Miranda-Blanco always has something fun and engaging going on in herSpanish Social Studies class and last week was no different! Here is her description of their project:
"We were reading and analyzing texts about Guatemala and its culture. At the end, we recreated a Guatemalan street market. Students researched Guatemalan handicrafts, built one, wrote an informational poster, and created their stand for the market. They had to also demonstrate mastery of a certain language topic from this unit."
We loved the creativity the students displayed and the hard work that they put in with their teams! Great work Ms. Miranda-Blanco and Team 8-3 students!

Tuesday, Feb 20 is a NO SCHOOL day, so be sure to stop by Oscar Howe Elementary for the second Community Health & Wellness fair, put on by the Community Learning Centers! There are lots of activities for kids, tons of community vendors, and amazing prizes for all!
